I have been studying Acts. This is a book of the Bible that I thought I knew. I had after all studied it (not very successfully) for GCE when I was 15 or 16. I had thought I knew it, but had only skated over it. We were encouraged to learn Paul’s missionary journey stop offs by rote – and that had succeeded in boring me. It has been through the transition of retirement that my imagination has been inspired. Greatly aided by Willie James Jennings’s wonderful theological commentary on Acts I have been blown away. It’s got me thinking. I don’t pretend it’s good biblical scholarship, it’s just a series of reflections on what’s got me thinking. What do you think, how do you understand Acts, how does Acts inspire you?
